Kuya Philip, we are indeed very grateful for touching our individual lives. Your messages during fellowships when we were in college have gone a long way and were used by God to teach us a lot of principles of Christian living. We also treasured all your advices and those of Ate Myrna when we were about to get married. One big thing that we are thankful of was the time when you generously shared to us your car during our honeymoon. It was such a big comfort for us, newly wed to instantly use a car which provided us great convenience in one of our live's milestone. Now that you're celebrating your 65th birthday, we are indeed grateful to God that we were given a chance to be a part of your meaningful and encouraging life. Happy birthday Kuya Philip!

Dear Kuya Pcf,
Nagmamahal,
Jud

Dear Bro. Philip,
I'm still able to make it as it is not yet 12midnight, so the day is not over for me to greet you a very blessed birthday celebration for the life God has blessed you with, which you are using to bless others with tremendously. I am one of those who have been encouraged and uplifted by your faithfulness to the Lord and with your dedication and instrumentality in living and sharing God's reality to so many including myself.
May the year which has passed in your life overflow with so much of the goodness of God towards the next year that's coming for you. And may it continue on towards all the years God has in store for you.
A blessed 65th birthday to you our dear brother and co-worker in the Lord.
In His love and service,
Bro. Steve, Rose Mirpuri and family

Happy Birthday Philip! I had not been the Philippines very long when you gave me this advise. You are here to learn, not to have a big impact. That took the pressure off me. I am glad you told me that. Don Seline

Here's my greetings to the greatest mentor in the world! Kuya Philip, I haven't seen you for quite sometime and I'm missing you terribly, most specially those encouraging words you've taught us that i've still been carrying ever since. The virtues that SIKAP taught me definitely are the reasons why I am here in my position right now...a responsible kuya, tito and perhaps I can consider myself the tatay of the family after the loss of my parents....a responsible citizen, a brave adult that can stand the test of time no matter what storm may pass by...Apart from our parents, most of us already considered you as our parent and that truly makes sense after all the things that we've learned from you...Words of gratitude is not enough to express but let me say this on your birthday --- May you have many, many more birthdays to come so that more people will be encouraged of your greatness. I miss you, Kuya Philip! Happy birthday and thank you for all the wonderful memories and more memories to come!

Maligayang kaarawan Kuya Philip!
Parang meron akong Parent-on-line!
I will sending thru post a 'gift in action' greeting card which will help feed a family in Africa, the picture is attached in this email.

Dear Ninong Philip,
There are few people who have made a significant and positive impact in my life. I'd like you to know on this your 65th Birthday, that you are one of those few people who have. Your influence has carved even my my family's mission in life -- to continue being used by God to bring glory to Himself by helping to reach at least one unreached people group in our lifetime. In His grace, our LORD has given us the unique privilege, through my international role with Wycliffe Global Alliance, to help quite a number of unreached people groups to know Him. This summer 2012, Nathan our son will join a vision trip with to one minority ethno-linguistic group. All this (and much more -- too much to be included in this letter) have been the result of your influence in my life! Happy Birthday, Ninong!
With our love and prayers,

Wishing Happy Birthday!

Hello Philip,
Did you ever get our Birthday greeting card sent about a few weeks ago? If you did, then that is our message to you as a "frontliner" to someone like you with what we call "aging". Heh! Heh! If you remember as you may have already read in the said card, my reply to you when you mentioned Enoch having reached a certain age at that time, that "...he was not found because he walked with God..." and that was perhaps your desire when you have reached your present age. My response had been: If you do that, let me walk with you and God, too. (If it were true, we would maybe have a real good time chatting and talking with each other...) Take care and happy birthday!
Just to share with you, we found a real good movie in "Netflix" if you have it. It's entitled, "What if...", starring Kevin Sorbo and Kathy Watson. I think it's a great movie with a Christian theme. Another one was entitled, "Encounter", another Christian movie which even stars one of the better wrestling stars known as "Sting". See if you could get to see these films. You'll likely to enjoy it!
In Christ,
Mandy

Dear Kuya Ninong Philip,
Mat. 25:21 “Well done, good and faithful servant, You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your Master’s happines”
Pag na alala ko po kayo, at ikinukwento sa mga kabataan, yung passage sa (Isaiah 60 21-22 NIV) “Then will all your people be righteous and they will possess the land forever . They are the shoots I have planted, the work of my hands, for the display of my splendor. The least of you will become a thousand, the smallest a mighty nation. I am the Lord, in its time I will do this swiftly.”
Si Concep – Admin Officer ng Habitat for Humanities for more than 10yrs na.
The least of us became a thousand, the smallest a mighty nation…
Happy birthday…

Dear Sir,
I was one of your FEBIAS students whom you have influenced to have a passion for evangelism and discipleship. My family has gone to 9 provinces already and has been in missions for more than 20 years now. "Daghang kaayong salamat" po sa inyong buhay (you've been a close family friend through the years since I was a kid when you did ministry with my dad). On behalf of my family, happy-happy birthday po and God bless you more (Gal./Heb. 6:10).
In Christ's Service,

To one of our dearest, long-time brothers in Christ, We are so grateful for your ministry in our lives and the lives of so many. We are praying that you have a special birthday, filled with all your favorites. Remember that birthdays are good for you. Statistics show that people who have the most live the longest! You are only as old as you act. I don't think you will ever grow up. You are fun to be with and always have something fresh from the Word to share with us. We pray Psm 92:14 for you today.
Love you, Bob & Connie

Happy Birthday Kuya Philip!
In the past week or so since I got Grace's invitation to contribute in this project, I've been thinking of what to tell you.
So Quick Update: In the past decade, I've been a communications specialist & youth development specialist in my projects with NGOs and private sector. Ako po ngayon ay nagli-lead ng isang group of private citizens who want to volunteer & now set-up an NGO to help educate the public on children's issues. We are about to launch our campaign in partnership with UNICEF and other groups from government & private sector sometime end of this year. Our current focus is addressing child abuse in the Philippines. I am also currently studying Children's Rights in UP Open University under a UNICEF scholarship for the next 4 semesters. I am also involved in some other volunteer projects. This year, I went back to doing workshops & training for youth. I am back to helping student leaders in public high schools & even in organizing community-based youth in Pampanga. I also train groups (adults & youth alike) on facilitation skills so they can devise their own group-think activities. With God's grace I will also soon be part of a pioneer digital publishing company in the Philippines.
Alam kong hindi mabibigyan ng justice ang kahit na anong buod ang ilagay ko dito ngayon sa aking attempts at telling you about the past decade since we last talked one on one. Ang pag "let go" mo sa akin noon ng may pagmamahal at pagtatangi kasama ng isang treasure island of memories of your practical expressions of love and the lessons you taught us ang siyang binabalikan ko sa mga oras ng pagkalito, pagtatanong, pagkabigo o pagkatuto. Visual akong tao. Between imagining you and my real dad, summoning your image is based on memories of real love shared. With my real dad, it's all fantasies.

I never stopped thinking of you as my father. I celebrate Father's day every year celebrating you & the lingering influence you have in my life. I wrote about you every now & then over the past years. So in closing, I am sharing this blog post I wrote in 2008. I will continue to pray for your well-being. Happy Birthday, Kuya! Much love from me!

Of Fathers and Substitute Dads
I haven’t celebrated Father’s Day with my own Dad. I would have wanted to if he chose to be present in our lives. His disappointing choices are history now though. I’ve made my peace with that part of him long before he passed away.
I picked up some concepts of fatherhood as I was growing up. In his place, I had my grandfather and several uncles. I wasn’t necessarily close to them but at one point or another, they cared for me and my brothers like we were their own. But I guess nobody can replace the feeling a father’s personal attention can give you. What I only have with me are observations of how my uncles were with their kids and how my cousins saw them or interacted with them.
I know for a fact that my uncles, the siblings of my mom, are great fathers. I know that they have a close relationship with their kids and that aside from being providers, they are hands-on with household chores --- that’s cooking, washing laundry and marketing. From them I learned that a father’s manhood cannot be questioned even if he overstretched his capabilities to those skills traditionally associated with women. His love for his family and his own little kingdom makes him do whatever is necessary to care for them. He is not just the king, but the head servant as well.
Love Beyond Family Borders
Aside from family, I’ve got some male teachers and mentors who I look up to. One person who came close to being called my father is my mentor Kuya Philip Flores. Even if I haven’t seen him for years now, he is my Morrie of Tuesdays with Morrie. I met him in the youth organization that nurtured me and developed me during my college days. I was only one of his “kids,” some of my closest friends are my siblings “in him.” We had more than Tuesdays with Kuya Philip or Papang as we call him. For many years he met up with us, talked to us individually and shared His wisdom to us, his children. I even found out later on that he is my secret benefactor who supported me with my school needs and who bought me my first eyeglasses when I started to need it.
Kuya Philip knows me or at least sees me from a parent's eye; he has been patient with my stubbornness; took time to be there for me when I needed a parent to talk to; forgiven me when I messed up and accepted me even if I chose to stray too far. I observed him with his own family because he opened his home to us and heard many anecdotes of his humble learning as a father. From Papang, I learned that fatherhood is a spiritual calling and not just a by-product of insemination. His walk with his Father is the one that guides him each day. When I hear the word godly, I remember his face. I miss both him and Him.
To Be or Not to Be
One of the biblical verses that remind me of God’s role as my father and which Papang passed on to me is Isaiah 46:4 which says: “I will be your God throughout your lifetime --- until your hair is white with age. I made you, and I will care for you. I will carry you along and save you.” This is my life’s verse. If one would take a close look at my journey, one would find that there are many instances that I needed saving --- from myself and from other forces. His invisible arms caught me more than once.
Tonight, I greeted my youngest brother “Happy Father’s Day!” It’s a first for me and for all of us. I don’t think he has fully realized either that he is a dad already. I am excited to welcome my first pamangkin in December. My brother was 2 or 3 when my father left us. So they are strangers to each other. I don’t know what his concept of fatherhood is. But I think he would be a better one than his old man. I surely hope so.
One thing that I realize about my own journey is that not all human beings are designed or are fit to be parents. I think it could be learned though. But mostly I think it’s like a talent in singing or drawing. They just have it in them. My father is a very talented man. He acts, teaches, draws, etc. Obviously, parenting isn’t one of those talents.
As for me, I don’t think I’ll sire my own kid. Let it be known though that I still entertain the idea of adopting a child when I reach 35. But for now, I am ready to be a surrogate father to my upcoming nephews and nieces. I’ll be a spoiler. I’ll be a playmate. I’ll be a friend. And I’ll be a support to my brothers as they fulfill their roles as fathers. After all, a kid would need as much fatherly love as they could get.
To this day, classic tear jerkers for me are scenes and themes on father and son relationship. That is my soft spot. Maybe because I still regret that my Pa opted to withhold from me my right to a good father. Maybe because I still keep on imagining the things I would have enjoyed if he was my teacher, my life coach, my dad. Maybe I am still jealous of kids who enjoy the love of their Tatay. Or maybe I still hope to hear the words “I love you son. I’m proud of you.” (Sobbing!)
But then again, there is hope for me and my brothers. Soon enough the house will be filled with kids --- a new generation of sons and daughters. And when that time comes, Father’s Day will have a new meaning and we will have a good reason to celebrate it --- personally and as a family.

Hi Pastor Phillip!
Even though I haven't known you for that long, I want to thank you and your wife again for your hospitality when I went to the Philippines and how you had just invested your time in helping me and my questions about life :) I hope you have a GREAT birthday and celebrating with your family!

The Message (MSG)
5-6Remember, our Message is not about ourselves; we're proclaiming Jesus Christ, the Master. All we are is messengers, errand runners from Jesus for you. It started when God said, "Light up the darkness!" and our lives filled up with light as we saw and understood God in the face of Christ, all bright and beautiful.
Herbert and Ging Flores-Osio
Dear Papa,
As I worked on this birthday website --- sending and receiving messages, editing, uploading --- I couldn't help but be sincerely blessed by the touching messages and greetings of the many people whose lives you've blessed. I praise God for using you in so many ways in so many people's lives. And I'm grateful to know that even though so many other people have you as their 'mentor, leader, pastor,' you have never made me and our family feel like a second-priority. As a youngster, I recall how busy you were --- always going off somewhere. And yet, somehow, you were always there for "family-times." The times you spent with us -- individually or as whole group -- truly made an impact in my life. I remember Friday afternoon dates at Dunkin Donuts on our way home from school in Nagtahan. I remember memorizing Key Verses every morning in the car as we drove to school. I remember Sunday family devotions. I remember birthday-morning QTs. I remember family events, both major and minor. I remember personal talks -- both the fun ones and the serious ones! I have fond memories of all those times especially since it emphasized to me how important we were to you. You always made an effort to be present at family events --- something we siblings have learned to emulate. We do what we have to do for family. You truly our ever dependable, ever faithful PhilHELP. :-)
I have been and still am inspired by the lives that you and Mommy lead. It is an honor and a privilege to share your name and be your child. My prayer is that Jethy will not just imitate Lolopop's 'funny walk' but that he will also imitate your Walk in the Lord.
Here's to Isaiah 40:31 for the next chapters of your life! May your walk with the Good Shepherd be ever blessed in ways beyond you can ask or imagine. We love you so much po!! Happy birthday!!!!
always,
Ging with Herbert and Jethy

Happy Birthday, Philip! May God’s awesome blessings be upon you this day. Take time to do something original on this very special day (age 65 use to be the official senior age) that you will remember when you reach the ripe old age of 83. I’m praying that you will have a real sense of God’s leading this coming year and will also experience His presence even to a greater measure than any time before. I continually give thanks for what He is doing in your life, Philip, and the life of your family. It’s great to keep somewhat informed as to the happenings of your children through Facebook. Sure love you.
Efren Pallorina and Family
It's your special day again, Philip.
And it must feel like you're at the starting line of a brand new race and the gun is about to go off. That's what it feels like when you realize the LORD is doing something new again in your life.
Like most people our age, you probably think sometimes there's still so much to learn and to do, and not a whole lot of time left.
But you have already learned that a well-run race is not about successes or spiritual milestones. It is about giving God all the glory in everything we do, say or think. Everything else, including medals and trophies, leads to a wasted life.
All these years, you have given your life to the ministry of building up disciples. Everyone of them is a John 17:4 life - accomplishing your task, pursuing your purpose, to bring glory to God alone.
May this birthday bring even more glory to Him as we your friends celebrate it with you.
Happy birthday!

Dear Pastor Philip,
A Blessed 65th Birthday to you!
Your life is a great blessing to all of us in TOPIC, especially here in Cagayan de Oro. I look to you as a humble servant of the Lord, a great mentor and a loving Tatay. I truly appreciate the time you spent for all of us, despite distance. Thank you for the wonderful and inspiring lessons you’ve shared and most of all for sharing your life to us.
I truly admire your love for God and your passion to serve Him. You are truly an encouragement. It is my prayer that God will continue to use you to be a blessing to many. As you celebrate your 65th birthday, may He grant you good health and more opportunity to bless others!

Dear Kuya Philip, I'm so thankful and privileged to have known you. During my youth you have shown me what is discipline, to do a task faithfully. I learnt discipline, specifically, in TMS. Keeping the scripture in mind and in my heart sustains me to have the courage to glorify the Lord in the corporate world. You honored me by your visits at work and at home. Your concern for me, my husband and my family encouraged us to continue in the Lord. At your 65th celebration of your birthday, we pray for long life that you may touch more lives for Christ. Abundant blessings and good health.... HAPPY, HAPPY 65th BIRTHDAY!

Dear Pastor Philip,
Truly God is so good! It's to hard to forget the time when me and my wife were looking for someone who would help us or mentor us so that we can go on with courage and there is no doubt na kayo po ang ibinigay ni God sa amin. I will never let this day to pass by na di po namin nasasabi ang words na ito ---Happy, Happy Birthday po! Long life, good health and more fruitful serving in the ministry ang wish namin sa inyo. Thank you po for your kindness . Again happy happy birthday po. Ingat po kayo lagi and God bless...

Dear Kuya Philip,
We see each other rarely but you continue to inspire me with your continuing service to our Lord Jesus Christ! And more inspiring still is the fact that you continue to burn brightly for believers and non-believers to see and witness! Like you, I pray that I will never lose zeal nor run out of energy in knowing our Lord, making Him known and in seeking His Kingdom and righteousness. That whatever the difficulty, whatever the challenge; like you, I will press on in His service and strength. We both look forward to the day when our Lord Jesus welcomes us and with rejoicing; affirms us by saying, "Well done, good and faithful servant! Enter the Kingdom of our Father where you truly belong."
Happy 65th birthday!
Blessings on you and your family,
Jaime

Happy, Happy Birthday, Kuya Phillip! I just want to let you know that your love and your influence in my life continues to guide me. Your life and the thoughts you shared during our times in Araneta University, is still an inspiration. Thank you for sharing your life to me. You have made a significant impact in who I am today.
Just as you have blessed us, May God return to you the blessings a hundredfold. Truly you are a gift of God. I thank God for your love and dedication and sharing your life with us.
May the Lord Jesus Christ continue to bless you for more more years for His glory! May God showers unending blessing to you and your family and may He keep you always in His tender, loving care… Have a great, blessed, wonderful and God-filled birthday… We love you!

Kuya Philip,
You have always been the Kuya Philip I knew from Day One that I met you in Pook ng Biyaya back in 1995 till the last conversation we had in Red Ribbon Edsa in 2010. Whew! It’s been a while, Kuya. I can't repay the lessons that you taught me over the years. I can't return the love and encouragement that you unconditionally shared.
But from the bottom of my heart, thank you for knowing the words to say when I’m in sorrow. Thank you for patiently listening to all my worries and stresses. Thank you for caring enough to keep me standing and to face life’s ordeal. Thank you for being my constant support when I didn't think I could cope. Thank you for showing me that God’s promises are for real. Thank you for lifting my spirit and letting me know there is HOPE.
I may not have always said it, but let me say it loud, I LOVE YOU.
A MEANINGFUL BIRTHDAY TO YOU, KUYA…

Kuya Philip, Happy 65th Birthday!
I came to know the Lord through the Nav Campus ministry in Cebu. When you launched "STREER 13", I was one of those whose lives had been changed through intensive discipleship follow-up. Since then, I dedicated my life to serve God in whatever capacity and means that He allows. Kuya Philip, THANK YOU!
Thank you for your love, commitment and dedication to serve God. You are like a father to the Philippine Navs and a grandfather to many young disciples. We were so blessed of having you as our first Nav National Director. I remember that you are also my Ninong sa kasal. Have a blessed 65th Birthday, and may you have 35 more years of celebrations to come.....................! Isaiah 40:31

To God's Faithful Servant:
We really thank God for your life. You have influenced us with Spiritual disciplines and the Lord allowed us to reach this far because of His grace through your ministry. The early stage of our training with you was very helpful.
Now that you have reached your 65th birthday, we're sure that you will still continue serving our Master, touching more lives and enjoying your walk with God- Psa. 92:12-15. Happy Birthday!

Our dear Kuya Philip,
We thank God for the only Kuya Philip in the world who has displayed an exemplary christian life for years among his colleagues, peers, friends, and family. May He bless you all the more ... spiritually, morally, physically, and materially as you model the life of Christ among Gentiles and believers, in this morally corrupted generation. Praying for you and your family and ministry regularly. Happy 65th birthday!!!
Rejoicing with you,

Dear Kuya Philip,
Wow! 65 years of God’s faithfulness and blessings! Sabi nga nila dito sa Canada “Awesome! “ .
We thank the Lord for the sixty-five-years he has given you to bless and minister to a lot of people including us. Your life and works have been an example to us as we live our lives and care for our boys. We will always cherish your friendship!
We’d like to bless you with an open heaven of God’s blessings for the next 30 years – good health, people, financial abundance and spiritual blessings! As you continue to seek the face of God, we pray that God’s manifest presence will be yours as long as you live.

My dear ex-boss/ shepherd but always a treasured brother in the LORD, Philip,
Through the years you have been a model to me of what a committed man ought to be . Your love and devotion to the LORD inspires me- you are like one of those trees that stand strong through the storms, an oak of righteousness continually growing deep and broad sheltering people under your branches. Thank you for your valuable part in my life and ministry as a single person, and your and Myrna's love for Craig and me and the kids. I do celebrate you and all that the LORD has accomplished in and through your life! May His hand of favor continue to rest on you and yours! You may not live to double your age now :>) but may the rest of your earthly years be all about climbing and conquering the giants and mountains like what Caleb of old set his mind to and did!
In tribute of your accomplishment, and the LORD's grace in bringing you to the shining age of 65, I am sending $65 in your name to the Nav HQ in Colorado.
With love and great respect,
Deb

Dear Philip,
Happy 65th birthday! We are sure you are feeling that you have finished the first half of your life, parang sa basketball game--tapos na ang first half. Now, you are looking at starting the second half of your life with renewed enthusiasm and deepen spirituality to the 'spirit' of Phil.3:13-14, " Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus."
So, we are cheering (i.e praying) for you, go for it! We believe God will allow you to impact even more people in the 'second half', than the 'first half'. And by the time na tapos na ang 'second half', 130 years old ka na! Puede ka nang mag-retire diyan!
from,
Rely

Dear Pop,
You are someone who is truly unique! No one is like you...just like a snowflake, or a thumbprint, or like zebra stripes! One of a kind, extraordinary, extra special, out of this world...extra terrestrial!
We are so blessed and so thankful that in you we have a FATHER....a MENTOR....a FRIEND! And now, on your 65th birthday, we congratulate you on being such a first rate LOLO POP! May Jeth and JuJu grow up to be like you...God-fearing and faithful to the Call.
Wishing you more years, more blessings, more spiritual children, more biological grandchildren...but also, more time to smell the flowers, tend the garden, read books, watch movies, dates with Mom, outings with the family and a bit more siesta (Pop, 10 minutes is not really siesta)! Haha!
HAPPY 65th BIRTHDAY, POP! WE LOVE YOU VERY MUCH AND WE HOPE TO SPEND MORE TIME WITH YOU AND MOM!!!

Dear Lolo Philip,
Your life has been a tremendous blessing to many. Nanay and Tatay have shared to us how much of a great leader you are and a wonderful father/mentor you have become to them. I'd say that you have a 'touch' on how Kuya and I were raised, as you have greatly influenced our parents. We are thankful to the Lord for giving you another year. :)
Happy birthday, Lolo Philip! =)
P.S. You are not getting older, you're getting better and better.

Dear Philip,
Happy, happy 65th birthday to our beloved leader and friend!!! Your birthday is a milestone of God’s good and faithful love in and through your life. Most of all, I (Thelma) will never forget for how you and Myrna have been my significant nurturers of my faith in the early years of my Christian life. Naalala ko pa yung mga panahon sa UP Diliman noong ako ay parang sponge sa pag-iinom ng Salita niya through your preaching sa fellowships and conferences. Although I (Jonathan) have not known you as long as Thelma has, I admire you for your faithfulness and perseverance in serving God and your commitment to train and disciple others. Thank you for modelling for us faith and courage in serving the Lord even beyond what is possible through the Navigators, and your great love for your family!
Mula sa aming puso, maligayang bati sa iyong 65th birthday!
Rejoicing with you,
Jonathan and Thelma

Ang pinakamatagal ko na atang bonding with him is when I joined the SIKAP people na mangisda sa lake Mohicap ng San Pablo, Laguna. Dun ko natutunan ang kasabihang: “patience is a virtue. Be like a fisherman”.
Hindi ko man nakasama ng mas matagal si PCF sa mga bondings ng SIKAP at hindi ko man siya naka-heart-to-heart talk, a part of him stays with the people that I bonded with.
Maraming Salamat at Maligayang Kaarawan.

On his 65th Birthday
The acorn of yore
Now a mighty oak
The acolyte of lore
How his glory rank.
At sixty five one muses
how God fuses
A man with grace in spite of stains
To shape arrays of chieftains.
His hair have grayed
His walk a little bowed
But fire still rouses the man
At his Master’s command.
God of heaven
Gird his words with Inspiration
Lace his wit with merry leaven
Till throngs are filled with heaven’s unction.
Spirit of God
Steady him through life’s sod
Bless Myrna, Ging, Joy, Jabez and the little ones
Till we sit on our heavenly thrones.

Dear Philip,
Congratulating you with the rest of the best, a Happy 65th Birthday!
Now you can take pride in the fact that you are suddenly senior. Crossing the line from having no security to social security if you are in this country. It also means retirement age has come of age, that all that tension of living young, can now be replaced with living in pension. If however living in retirement should be a problem, then in this or many other cultures, it is time my friend to embrace horticulture.
All kidding and a few laughs beside, the Lord promises in Psa. 92:12-14 that “The righteous man will flourish like the palm tree, He will grow like a cedar in Lebanon. Planted in the house of the Lord, They will flourish in the courts of our God. They will still yield fruit in old age; They shall be full of sap and very green.”
May the Lord continue to be your Horticulturist as you flourish in His garden beyond 65.
God bless,
Peter

Dear Ninong Philip,
Thank God for you!
At crucial points of my life, my family and the ministry He entrusted to me, God would always bring you as His channel of blessings to me. Thank you for being there, available for His glory.
From your "No Cross, No Crown" to your "A New Breed," the Lord mightily spoke through you to me. I believe I am a better person and pastor because of you.
Again, thank you. Only eternity would reveal the extent of the fruit of your labors. I believe it would be so much!
You put a smile on God's face... as well as ours.
Yours in Christ,
Alfred Merejilla
Pastor Philip, I wish you a wonderful, victorious, fruitful and a blessed 65th Birthday! You are truly a blessing to many - even to me. I have known you since the Navigator days, and thank you for inviting me to be one of the resource lecturer of TOPIC Phils as well as giving the right branding of my 10 Commandments Advocacy - Evangelism Style Pinoy... May the LORD Who gave you all the wisdom and the anointing to help others continually pour out HIS overflowing grace and favor you and your loved ones as you look forward to your new year! HAPPY BIRTHDAY PO!"

HAPPY BIRTHDAY from the bottom of my heart!
My life was never been the same again since I met you sometime early eighties when I was a baby in my Christian life. You have been such a model and a good example of what a Christian should look like. Much more that I am inclined and now committed and excited to always teach the Word. This gifting was undoubtedly influenced and nurtured by a few people in the Navs and you are on top of the list. I think almost all your messages which I was present and some handouts I asked from your workshops is still filed intact and have been a source of so much wisdom and guidance as I journey in preaching and teaching the inspired Word of God. Continue mentoring people as you have mentored me. I know you will always continue serving the Lord even in old age. This is my prayer for you-Psalm 92:12-14.
In Christ's Love,

I am one of those who look up to you as my "occassional mentor' - for whenever I have the opportunity to sit down with you, i make it a point to ask good questions that can greatly influence my life, family and ministry. Thanks for generously sharing your life. I am blessed to have you as my spiritual mentor and friend. Happy birthday!

Happy, happy 65th birthday Kuya Philip! It is a joy to serve with you in God's kingdom. I've not told you this, but the first time I heard you preach was in our small church in Malate Faith Sanctuary in Taft Ave. I'm sure you don't remember this anymore. Back then, my first impression of you was, "Naku! istrikto ito." But that impression was changed when I had the privilege of working with you in PCEC, PBS and World Teach. You are a no-non-sense guy who knows how to laugh and have fun at the right time. Your passion to mentor others is admirable. You are a treasure in the body of Christ. Happy birthday po!

Hi, Nongni! In your late 30's po yata kayo when we first met you . Ehem....gwapo pa rin siempre. .. We treasure your presence, wisdom and spiritual mentoring. Kayo yung mentor na 'man of few words' pero napakatindi ng impact sa mga nakikinig. We see in your life the 'fatherhood of GOD', patient, kind, loving, compassionate, generous, full of wisdom and understanding, trustworthy, with good sense of humor and siyempre disciplinarian (aray!).
We take this special time to personally THANK YOU for being with us in our journey as husband and wife. Your living example as a child of GOD who is totally committed to wherever HE leads inspires us to do the same. We realize that it is not the material things that makes a man fulfilled but it is in knowing that one is at the center of HIS WILL and at the finish line of our run our MAKER is waiting to embrace us and tell us, "Well done, my good and faithful one".
We celebrate GOD's goodness in your life for 65 years. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Nongni philip!

We don't accomplish anything in this life alone .... and whatever happens is the result of the whole tapestry of one's life and all the weavings of individual threads from one to another that creates something. "
Sandra Day O'Connor.
Psalm 139: 13
"You created every part of me, knitting me in my mother's womb."
2 Cor. 3: 18b
And the Lord who is the Spirit - makes us more and more like Him as we are changed (being transformed) into His glorious image.
The one who formed us in our mother's womb has continued to transform us as various events and experiences have shaped us into the people we are today. And in each of those events and experiences were a cast of characters of course (some villains and other heroes) .
I am eternally grateful that during my young and impressionable years, Kuya Philip and his then future wife, Ate Myrna provided meaningful and transcendent experiences even as they modeled for us purpose driven lives (to know Christ and make him known) in which I should add retirement was not an option? Indeed they were truly effective and highly influential trailblazers both. Who as a married couple have continued to inspire us to this day. As do the children they raised.
I feel very blessed to have those growing years in my walk with the Lord when Kuya Philip and Ate Myrna gently, faithfully and wisely ministered to me whose tremendous influence is of course woven into the tapestry of my life. Considering what might have been. Thanks to the option of joining the Jesus Movement in the campus of which Kuya Philip and Ate Myrna were two of the prominent leaders, my Navigator contemporaries and I did not feel compelled like many others to take part in the Radical Movement (Communist, Marxist, NPA, etc) which was a dominant force in UP Diliman when I was there (era of the "Diliman Commune").
At a time when all these "isms" were the prevalent topics or political climate of the day (nihilism, cynism, pessimism, fatalism, communism, Marxism) as well as talks about End times and Armageddon; Vietnam war with American troops retreating as the communists were winning; demonstrations and protest rallies in the Philippines and all over the world..... we were so priveleged to have this haven of rest and refuge to run to (daily prayer meetings at the library, Sunday round-ups, Bible studies where we were being led and/or leading others) and the oasis to retreat and encamp for several days for respite; communal praise, worship, and prayer; and mutual encouragement. I fondly recall those carefully orchestrated wholesome, uplifting and edifying activities and events where led by Kuya Philip we would all joyfully sing "Everyday with Jesus is sweeter than the day before..." "Trust and Obey for there's no other way to be happy in Jesus but to trust and obey", etc., etc. Or listened to the gifted and talented musicians among us sing "Give them all.... give them all to Jesus. HE WILL TURN YOUR SORROW INTO JOY!"

After we all separated ways, Kuya Philip and Ate Myrna continued/ have continued to Walk the Walk as a married couple. They have stayed in touch still ministering to us their spritual children to this day. We have rejoiced with them as one by one a new addition joined the family> Grace then Joy then Jabez, then the sons in law and of course the precious grandchildren.
I honor you both for having faithfully and passionately obeyed and lived the Great Commission while at the same time not neglecting your children but raising them to become the godly women and man that they are.
In closing, I want to share the image in my mind's eye of rows and rows of tapestries both completed and still in progress where the experience with Kuya Philip is one of the threads woven into them. Representing the countless of lives he has touched both directly and indirectly. So far. Not just in the different islands of the Philipines but in many areas of the world in all continents as well. For he is not ashamed of the gospel who has witnessed in his Jerusalem, his Judea, his Samaria and to the ends of the earth.
Happy Birthday, Kuya Philip. More of the Holy Spirit Power to you.
In Him we live and move and have our being!

Dear Kuya and Ninong Philip,
God knew you before you were born, and He had great plans for you. We believe He still has many more great plans for your life. We want to wish you a happy birthday and we will continue to pray for your life to be a light to the world. It is clear that God created you for a great purpose. Birthdays are a great time to remember that God creates some beautiful people. You are one of the best we know. Count your age by friends, not years. You're not getting older, you're getting better.
We know for sure that you are now enjoying your senior citizen discounts. You deserve them, Kuya Philip! "Cheers" to another year of blessings!

Happy Birthday Kuya Philip! Thanks for your exemplary life of leadership and service. You are one of a kind. You have given me a vision while I was still a young Christian. Maybe where I am now is in partly because of that. Through you I have learned to value the gift that God has given me, tho how small it is in my sight. I can still vividly remember some of the verses you quote from Isaiah like "Look to the rock from which you were cut and to the quarry from which you were hewn" (Isaiah 51:1) teaching me about my identity and (Isaiah 60:22) "The least of you will become a thousand, the smallest a mighty nation. I am the Lord: in its time I will do this swiftly."
May God bless you with strength, good health and wisdom together with your family. Mabuhay po kayo, Lolo Philip!
Tess
